Sony FS7 video or television camera crew in Colorado with DP director of photography

Mister Photon Media provides local 4K video crews or television crews, including a videographer/cameraman, or director of photography with the Sony PXW-FS7 or other 4K format cameras in any Colorado area. Mister Photon Media is a veteran owner operator of this camera with complete proficiency as a freelance resource. Adding creativity, experience and enthusiasm, MIster Photon Media will bring you the best footage and enthusiasm when you hire us for any type of corporate video, film or television production located in Denver but serving all Colorado & beyond. We can also provide film crew services with this camera or others for television, advertising, features, in dependant films, features or whatever the production any client needs to the scale as well.

About our Sony PXW-FS7 camera

This camera has a super 35mm sensor and a native E-mount lens system that can be adapted to Canon or Nikon Mount EF or EFS lenses, or PL lenses or Sony A-mount lenses. Adapter mounts enable PL, DSLR and A-mount lenses to be used, as well, B4 2/3 lenses, just like the FS700 camera or other E-Mount Sony cameras. Other lens manufacturers like Rokinon, Tamron, Tokina, Sigma among others whom make Canon EF mount or EFS mount lenses can also be adapted to this camera. Sony is the maker of E-mount lens at this time but non E-mount lenses are available to work with this camera. The FS7 camera records a XAVC HD codec in I mode, or a lesser data rate or L, for LONG GOP. The camera can also record MPEG 720p or 1080i or p recording capability. XAVC-I or L are higher bit rate recordings and enable up to 4K standard or UHD/Ultra HD format recordings making the camera a choice for any type of production in internet, video, television, film or other specific genre production. The camera can also record in Hyper gamma modes with is a HDR/WDR mode or S-Log 2 or 3.

The XAVC Codec works with recent non-linear editing software to open and edit as well natively, as it is a newer video codec than AVCHD. Sony among others make software to view the footage and edit it as well.

You can also use the Sony XDCA-FS7 Extension Unit for PXW-FS7 to output RAW 12bit 2K or 4K, as well record ProRes. We also own this extension that enables time code via BNC connections as well. The XDCA-FS7 Extension Unit, and can also output RAW to record ProRes externally via our Atomos Inferno recorder with resolutions up to 4K. With our Atomos recorded we can record 4K ProRes as well, that is often a popular post production codec used by many editors.

You can also over-crank with this camera like the Sony FS700 or the FS7. Over cranking is recording at higher frame rates that creates a slow motion effect, and is more pronounced at more frames per second/fps. Frame rates recorded at lower or standard playback speeds such as 24, 25, 30 frames per second. Over cranking is considered 60+ fps recording, and the higher the frame rate the smoother or slower effect occurs on frame rate increase.

The SONY FS7's menu structure and camera command functions are also similar to the FS700U/R camera as well. But the key difference is the FS700R outputs 4K, and the FS7 records it internally, and can also output 4K as well. There are other differences as well from these cameras with the FS7 having more control over gamma, as well HDR/high dynamic range among color profiles and other control. These cameras both share the same lens mount system being the E-Mount. With the FS700 4k recording is done via the HD-SDI output.

High Speed Over cranking up to 240 fps in 1080 HD

This camera has the higher frame rates over XDCAM when over cranking. The high speed recording is better than the F3, and many of the PDW or PMW series XDCAM cameras as you can record full 1080p at 240 frames per second using the XDCA-FS7 pack and appropriate recorder. It can record 180 fps/frames per second without the unit to record 1080 HD compared to the XDCAM limited to 30 or 60p with F3, EX3, or EX1 or PDW F330, 350, 700 or F800 among some others. The FS7 can also record 60fps 4K as well or higher rates in 2K or 1080 or 720 with overcrank specs similar to the Red Epic or Scarlet. Read more about it by Google here. Please remember in 4K at 60 fps, the data rate almost doubles, (for your disk storage planning).

Why hire our Sony FS7 video crew?

Hiring a crew like ours with the FS7 that records 1080, 2K & 4K video formats, with the lenses available, and high speed recording are great. This camera has synced audio, depth of field and higher ISO with less noise make this camera very appealing. You can view 4K live from the camera via the HDMI or the XDCA-FS7 Extension Unit's DSI port to a monitor or recorder with the capability as well. If you need a crew located in Denver as well with this camera or others, Mister Photon Media is a great fit due to our capabilities as well experience in Denver, across Colorado, among other states, as well in other countries.

Why choose the PXW-FS7 for features/cinema production, other types of films, documentary production, TV or video production ? If you're looking for the film look, done much cheaper & faster than filming with 16mm or 35mm film, and have to adapt quickly to shots, as opposed to modifying set elements or lighting for shots restricted by film stock, lighting conditions, magazine length, etc., then the PXW-FS7 is an ideal camera, especially if you only have one camera. Recording separate time code from audio or separate audio from picture is common to DSLR or motion picture film camera production, (using film stock) is another additional step in post production. DSLR cameras or older film cameras without time code or synced audio can increase editing time increasing your production costs, in particular when poor sound recordings are made requiring ADR or other post production steps that may need to occur.

Any adaptable camera person or crew can this camera and hand off great looking footage to any type of client. The digital video files can be opened with ease in Windows, Unix & Mac operating systems with the right software & hardware resources including Sony's RAW Viewer. For XAVC-I or L used in the Sony FS7 later versions of AVID Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro CC/Creative Cloud or Apple Final Cut X are are recommended NLE/non linear editors for efficiency, but are readily available solutions. When outputting RAW video from the camera sensor common formats such as QuickTime ProRes or AVID DNxHD can also be recorded with an external recorder, (like our Atomos Inferno), making the footage more accessible and simpler to work with.
