Are storyboards more simplified than traditional art?Storyboard artists, concepts artists, set or character designers have varied hourly rates. So often if it’s a simple product, scene, idea or place, there is not as necessary to concentrate on finer details of a drawing or other storyboard art. With drawing more detail, illustrating or using the other methods to make a storyboard or design concept art. Storyboards can simplify action, characters, products and already familiar places. So if the brand is known, less detail may not be as necessary. If it’s a brand with new identity or a complex scene, character or place or idea, more detail is needed in the storyboard making. More detail is always better for direction in storyboards or concept art, but time or budget may constrain more detail. Mainly budgets can be estimated and worked with to keep a storyboard or concept artist ideas continuing. Or revised art made if needed and flowing with the creative process. Spending time on details that may increase time to draw, paint, illustrate or make the art is not always necessary. More Complex Design & ArtArt for storyboards, set or character design or concept art are often more complex for features films. Or for a TV or film series. Details and budgets are higher and the more information in theme for the designs, illustration and artwork is needed. If a character, place, scene or plot needs a lot of direction for actors, cinematography and blocking then a more detailed storyboard or design is critical in the art.
