Permanent
- The videotape format of the HDX900
enables a permanent storage solution unlike
the need for multiple redundant hard drives
(when one fails with the only media and it's
gone forever, unless backed up elsewhere via
Blue Ray, duplicate hard drive etc).
Lens
Choices - The HDX900 takes any 2/3
professional lens including wide angle, cine
style prime lenses, super long telephoto or
ENG type lenses (HD lenses being preferred for
picture clarity and the larger / wider aspect
ratio). Matte boxes, filters and a array of
other camera accessories are also available
too for the HDX900 + it can be docked to a (these
outside links) Nanoflash
recorder, or FS
firestore as well to additional recording
options. |
P2
What About DVCPRO HD Tapeless?
In
between the Panasonic VariCam & HDX900 was
the introduction of P2. P2 cameras have a tapeless
workflow and reduce digitizing time - they are
similar in tapeless recording like others from
XDCAM, AVC HD or AVCAM, NXCAM or others. The
client needs a hard drive or external hard drive
to transfer the video to via a P2 card reader
(our crew can handle all these deliverables
or bring support equipment for footage transfer/digitizing).
The
P2 card is a high speed card capable of handling
high data video that inserts into the camera,
after the card has been filled (recorded to
capacity) the card is ejected and transferred
to a hard drive or edit system (we can handle
all these aspects or bring support peripherals
to assist your production workflow or resources).
The P2 format is converted to Quicktime Pro
or other digital video file of preference for
editing. P2 is a Panasonic technology using
a different frame compression technology than
other digital video cameras, although it's highly
user friendly and compatible with many editing
technologies. The compression is improved and
comparable to XDCAM video sampling, and in some
instances the preference is basically up to
the clients or networks. All video cameras shooting
digital formats have some type of compression
& color sampling, however you can research
this here.
